What Is the Webster Technique?
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment protocol developed for pregnant women by Dr. Larry Webster, founder of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).
Its purpose is to assess and improve the function of the sacroiliac joint and reduce tension in the muscles and ligaments of the pelvis — creating an environment in which the body can move, adapt and function as freely as possible throughout pregnancy.
Important: the Webster Technique is not a procedure to “turn” a breech baby. Its focus is on the mother’s neuromusculoskeletal balance. Any change in foetal position is a natural physiological response, not a direct goal of the adjustment.

Preconception Care in Barcelona
aking care of your nervous system before conception is one of the most overlooked aspects of reproductive health.
Chiropractic care during the preconception phase focuses on:
-
Optimising communication between the nervous system and all body systems
-
Improving sacropelvic mobility and balance
-
Supporting the body’s natural vitality and adaptive capacity
Many women who come to Léa for preconception care report greater body awareness, better sleep quality and a sense of structural balance — a solid foundation for what lies ahead.

Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy
Pregnancy brings extraordinary changes to your body in a very short time. The Webster Technique accompanies this process by supporting pelvic balance, thoracic mobility and nervous system function at every trimester.
What does a session look like?
Léa uses a gentle, specific protocol adapted to each stage of pregnancy. You will lie in comfortable supported positions. The adjustments are precise and low-force — many patients are surprised by how gentle the process is.
When to start?
There is no single right time. Some women begin in the first trimester, others from week 20 onward, and others in the final weeks. Each moment has its own value.
Postpartum Recovery
Birth — however it unfolds — is a profound physical event. The postpartum period is an ideal time to reassess pelvic function, sacral mobility and the overall structural balance of the body after that effort.
Postpartum chiropractic care can be part of a broader recovery approach alongside pelvic floor physiotherapy, osteopathy and midwifery care. Léa works in coordination with other health professionals when the situation calls for it.
Léa Jubelin — Perinatal Chiropractor in Barcelona
“My interest in prenatal chiropractic care is personal. I gave birth twice — once at home and once in hospital. Both experiences showed me how much a woman’s body prepares, adapts and works throughout pregnancy. I wanted to understand that process deeply, and accompany others through it.”

Frequently asked questions
Is the Webster Technique safe during pregnancy?
Yes. It is a gentle, specific protocol designed for pregnant women. The ICPA has developed safety and application standards that Léa follows in every session.
Does it hurt?
No. The adjustments are low-force and precise. Most patients find the session relaxing rather than uncomfortable.
Can I come if I’m not pregnant?
Yes. The principles of pelvic and sacral balance are relevant at any stage of life — preconception, postpartum or outside of any pregnancy entirely.
Is the Webster Technique the same as trying to turn a breech baby?
No. This is one of the most common misconceptions. The Webster Technique works on the mother’s pelvic balance, not on the position of the baby. Any change in foetal position is a natural response of the body, not a direct effect of the adjustment.
From what week of pregnancy can I start?
From the first trimester onward. There is no minimum gestational age. Each stage of pregnancy has its own needs and benefits from chiropractic support.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on each person and their specific situation. Léa will assess your case in the first session and suggest a personalised approach.
Do you work alongside gynaecologists and midwives?
Yes. Chiropractic care is a complementary approach. Léa communicates and collaborates with other health professionals whenever appropriate.
Is there parking nearby?
The practice is at Portal del Ángel 38, in the heart of Barcelona. It is easily accessible by metro (Liceu or Catalunya) and public transport.
